When a devotee's prayer is answered, they arrange for the Mannat Deg to be prepared in gratitude. The food is then distributed in the dargah, and it is considered both a sacred offering and a way to contribute to the community, following the Sufi principles of service and humility.

Purpose of the Mannat Deg:

  • The Mannat Deg is specifically associated with the fulfillment of mannats (vows) made by devotees. When people visit the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and ask for the fulfillment of their wishes or desires, they often vow to make an offering of food in return if their prayer is answered.

  • This food offering, cooked in the Mannat Deg, is considered an expression of gratitude and devotion by the devotees. It is believed that preparing and distributing food from the Mannat Deg is a way of honoring the saint for helping fulfill their prayers.

All these Deghs are cooked by Zaireen (pilgrims/devotees)
who can afford to cook, through their respected Khuddams of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. If you have a plan to cook Degh at any time of the year, please let me know in advance, so that i may make the necessary arrangements required, as Deghs are cooked all the year round. It can be cooked in your personal presence & in your absence too, on your behalf or any sort of Niyaz you want to cook other then Degh.
